Abortion Debate

Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus before it is sufficiently developed to survive independently, deliberately induced by the use of drugs or by surgical procedures. Also called termination or induced abortion. This description is based on medical explanation, easily it is killing the unborn baby. Many countries have an abortion problem, for example the number of abortion is increasing in New Zealand, and it comes from the statistic result act between 1991 and 2007 New Zealand Statistics. Women aged 20-24 years had the highest abortion rate in 2007 (New Zealand Statistics, 2008). There are other countries which also have serious abortion problem, USA, UK, Canada, Korea and so on. The cause of abortion is a little bit different each country. However I think the most serious factor is the ignorance of contraception, and teenagers' sex problem. Above facts are common problems of the world. Over 800 million of women use a pill for preventing conception every year. Recently the abortion medicine developed, France and China already allowed to use it. The abortion becomes a common thing in some countries, also there are people who disagree about it. Untill now on, two different opinions of the abortion are still opposed. In my blog, I will choose one side of the abortion debate, and then discuss with visitors how they think about it.

In the abortion debate, there are two sides of opinions, a pro-life and a pro-choice. A pro-life is opposing abortion, euthanasia and experimentation on human embryos. The other side of a pro-life is a pro-choice which describes the political and ethnical view that a women should have complete control over her fetility and pregnancy. Between two opinions, I choose a pro-choice, because I also think that having baby is women's choice. First of all, I will show a video which relates to a pro-choice.



In this video, 'we are not gonna take it' this sentence shows rapidly. People showed up from this video, they are fighting for women's lives. Also they insist that women have a right to choose a baby. Then what is the reason of their choice?

First of all, aborting unwanted children reduces the number of abused child. Every child can not be a wanted child, so the most of unwanted children become orphans or aborting. Then why can not we love them both. Women usually prepare whole family plan and life, and think about their pregnancy when they have a condition completely. Recently the women's value is sometimes determined by the choice of man, but the value of unborn babies are to be determined by whether women want them or not (Willke, 2006). If women are pregnant before ready to have a baby, they start to worry about their present life and conditions of breeding baby. According to Stacey (2008), the highest percentage of reasons why women have abortions is that having a baby would dramatically change my life. The other reasons which are 'can not afford a baby' and 'concerns about their own health' so on. In general unmarried women have a fear for transaction to motherhood. So most of women who pregnant unwanted children give up to give birth to them. I think abortion is the better way to both unmarried women and unwanted children.

Next the difficulties of teenager's early childbearing affect them to abort an unborn baby. Without planned having baby in early age, teenagers have many problems. In fact, the abortion rate of New Zealand teens has almost doubled since 1980 (New Zealand Statistics, 2008). Teenage childbearing is generally considered a poor life choice. The responsibilities of early parenthood affect to the socio-economic wellbeing of the women and children invloved. This result happens from interrupted education, more generally, simply being emotionally and socially unprepared for childbearing. In Korea, more than one out of four female high school students who have had sexual relations have also had an abortion. Also a pregnant women who wishes to abort her fetus usually visits her local obsterician/ gynecologist and the doctor usually performs the abortion (GI Korea, 2007). It means that teenagers are recognised the difficulties of early childbearing and abortion can be more helpful their youth life.

In conclusion, abortion is the best way for reducing the risk of unwanted children born and teenagers body more safer. It is really serious issue in many countries. I suggest two reasons that are women can not love them both, and early childbearing is hard for teenagers. Those reasons suggest same problems of having baby and right to abort unborn babies. People who unprepared for childbearing feel fear to responsible early parenthood. I am a side of the pro-choice, but abortion is truely not same meaning as allow unplanned relationships.
