Trademe - NZ online shopping website

Trademe, my favorite site which is New Zealand online auctions and classfields. Approximately 4000 people visit to this website. This site is truely shopping website, so it contains lots of categories. Trademe's shopping system is the auction, there are many different ways of auctions. You can buy something more cheaper if you have a luck. Then how this website appears and attracts people?

Attractivity is the most important thing, especially the shopping website. Because people do not read web page word by word, they scan the page (Nielsen, 1997). Nielsen found that 79 percent of test users always scanned any new page they came across. I agree what he said, because truely people scan web page which includes picture, colour, heading and the list of categories. Trademe website has a special character, Kiwi bird. It shows that trademe is the website for New Zealand. I think Kiwi bird is an appropriate character for New Zealand's symbol.

How about the colour of website? The background of trademe site is white and other colours which are yellow and blue using for side bar and category list. "Yellow is the brightest colour in the spectrum, also it is the colour of the mind" (Scarlet Pixel, 2006). It makes the website more gorgeous and helps to find main categories easily (Home, Browse, Sell, My trademe and Community). Particularly subtitle, categories and the rest of texts express in blue colour with white background, blue and white match strongly each other. Under those texts, there are three the most popular items what people look for (Motors, Property and Jobs). They have special icons for recognising categories more exactly. The others, there are many different type of icons, 'new item' shows in orange colour, 'reserve met price' shows a red flag, 'no reserve' shows yellow flag, and 'pay now' shows green icon. Those icons are the best things on this website.

The centre of website is structured by lots of categories in front of the web page. If you click one of the category, it links to next page which shows sub-categories. For example, if you choose 'Mobile phones', then the next webpage shows Vodafone and Telecome which are broadband company in New Zealand, and I choose Vodafone, after that lots of mobile brands present on the web page. Also there is the easiest way that you can search straightly. There are useful banners by using interesting image and texts on the right hand side of website.

In conclusion, this website has really interesting shopping website. It presents 'Kiwi bird' of New Zealand's special symbol for using trademe's icon. The background colour is white, but the highlight part applys yellow colour, and the texts in blue colour. Those colours make the website more gorgeous. In trademe website, design and structure are well settled. Whole categories link to sub-categories, and lots of shopping sources. Also the visitors can search items more easily to use helpful banners. Trademe makes that the visitors enjoy the shopping more easier, more cheaper and more enjoyable.

Abortion Debate

Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus before it is sufficiently developed to survive independently, deliberately induced by the use of drugs or by surgical procedures. Also called termination or induced abortion. This description is based on medical explanation, easily it is killing the unborn baby. Many countries have an abortion problem, for example the number of abortion is increasing in New Zealand, and it comes from the statistic result act between 1991 and 2007 New Zealand Statistics. Women aged 20-24 years had the highest abortion rate in 2007 (New Zealand Statistics, 2008). There are other countries which also have serious abortion problem, USA, UK, Canada, Korea and so on. The cause of abortion is a little bit different each country. However I think the most serious factor is the ignorance of contraception, and teenagers' sex problem. Above facts are common problems of the world. Over 800 million of women use a pill for preventing conception every year. Recently the abortion medicine developed, France and China already allowed to use it. The abortion becomes a common thing in some countries, also there are people who disagree about it. Untill now on, two different opinions of the abortion are still opposed. In my blog, I will choose one side of the abortion debate, and then discuss with visitors how they think about it.

In the abortion debate, there are two sides of opinions, a pro-life and a pro-choice. A pro-life is opposing abortion, euthanasia and experimentation on human embryos. The other side of a pro-life is a pro-choice which describes the political and ethnical view that a women should have complete control over her fetility and pregnancy. Between two opinions, I choose a pro-choice, because I also think that having baby is women's choice. First of all, I will show a video which relates to a pro-choice.



In this video, 'we are not gonna take it' this sentence shows rapidly. People showed up from this video, they are fighting for women's lives. Also they insist that women have a right to choose a baby. Then what is the reason of their choice?

First of all, aborting unwanted children reduces the number of abused child. Every child can not be a wanted child, so the most of unwanted children become orphans or aborting. Then why can not we love them both. Women usually prepare whole family plan and life, and think about their pregnancy when they have a condition completely. Recently the women's value is sometimes determined by the choice of man, but the value of unborn babies are to be determined by whether women want them or not (Willke, 2006). If women are pregnant before ready to have a baby, they start to worry about their present life and conditions of breeding baby. According to Stacey (2008), the highest percentage of reasons why women have abortions is that having a baby would dramatically change my life. The other reasons which are 'can not afford a baby' and 'concerns about their own health' so on. In general unmarried women have a fear for transaction to motherhood. So most of women who pregnant unwanted children give up to give birth to them. I think abortion is the better way to both unmarried women and unwanted children.

Next the difficulties of teenager's early childbearing affect them to abort an unborn baby. Without planned having baby in early age, teenagers have many problems. In fact, the abortion rate of New Zealand teens has almost doubled since 1980 (New Zealand Statistics, 2008). Teenage childbearing is generally considered a poor life choice. The responsibilities of early parenthood affect to the socio-economic wellbeing of the women and children invloved. This result happens from interrupted education, more generally, simply being emotionally and socially unprepared for childbearing. In Korea, more than one out of four female high school students who have had sexual relations have also had an abortion. Also a pregnant women who wishes to abort her fetus usually visits her local obsterician/ gynecologist and the doctor usually performs the abortion (GI Korea, 2007). It means that teenagers are recognised the difficulties of early childbearing and abortion can be more helpful their youth life.

In conclusion, abortion is the best way for reducing the risk of unwanted children born and teenagers body more safer. It is really serious issue in many countries. I suggest two reasons that are women can not love them both, and early childbearing is hard for teenagers. Those reasons suggest same problems of having baby and right to abort unborn babies. People who unprepared for childbearing feel fear to responsible early parenthood. I am a side of the pro-choice, but abortion is truely not same meaning as allow unplanned relationships. Seventh Dwarf who loved Snow White

This is my fanfiction ^ ^ not really good at English.

The original story of Snow white is happy ending is, “Together, the Prince and Snow White rode off to his castle, where they lived happily ever after (Disney Enterprises, 2008).” However there was one person who felt sad after princess left with prince. The Seventh dwarf, I will write the story about him who is the most loved Snow White.

The Seven Dwarfs who owned the cottage were busy working. All day long they dug for jewels. The Seven Dwarfs are Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Dopey. One day, Snow White ran away from her stepmother, and came to their place. She explained to the Dwarfs about who she was and what the evil Queen had planned for her. Snow White wanted to stay at their place.

“If you let me stay, I will wash and sew and sweep and cook.”

Snow White promised. Dwarfs shouted and welcomed her. They introduced themselves but one dwarf did not say anything.

“His name is Dopey, he can’t speak but you can understand his body language”

Dopey hided behind the table, his face was dyed red.The next morning, Snow White was spending same day. At that time, Dopey entered and gave a flower to Snow White shyly. She received his gift with beautiful smiling.

“It’s really pretty flower, what’s the name of this flower?”

Snow White was lived in the castle so she had never seen this flower. Dopey thought something and tried to show her with gesture. He represented the sereneness and moisture of the fog by using a motion of arms and a gentle smile.

“Sereneness…? And…… Sorry, I do not understand.”

“This flower called Gypsophila, you can see everywhere in this area.” Doc said.

“The sereneness and moisture of the fog… it looks good”

However Dopey felt sorrowful because his movement did not make communicating to her. This means that the conversation will difficult between Dopey and Snow White from this time forward. At that time, Snow White kissed Dopey.

“Thank you, Dopey.”

He fell in love with Snow White.

From the shadows of the trees, the Queen watched the Dwarfs leave. Slowly she crept up to the cottage. Then she offered the poisoned apple to Snow White.

“All alone, my pet? Go on, have a bite.”

Sensing danger, the forest animals ran off to warn the Dwarfs. But it was too late. Snow White bit into the poisoned fruit. She fell to the ground.

“Now I will be the fairest in the land! No one save you Snow White, only the prince can awake you.”

The Queen left with mystery laughing. The behind of the tree, a deer listened her voice. When Dwarfs arrived, a deer told them what happened to her. The heartbroken Dwarfs built a coffin for Snow White and watched over her day and night. Suddenly Dopey stood up and tried to say something to Doc with gestures.

“Dopey! It’s too dangerous! People don’t like us, you know that!”

“He is right! You can’t do it!”

But Dopey did not listen their voices, he started to run toward the village.Finally Dopey arrived the village, and he tried to find the prince. In front of the castle, soldiers made precautions and took a threatening attitude to Dopey. He could not enter the castle, so he shouted for helping princess but the voice did not come out. At that time, the prince appeared in front of Dopey suddenly. The prince felt something that happened through Dopey’s eye. Dopey was pointing to the forest and started dancing that represents the death of princess. The Prince went toward the forest with Dopey.

“Look! Dopey came back with the prince!”

Other dwarfs were greeting Dopey and the prince. The prince had searched far and wide for the beautiful princess. With great sorrow, he kissed Snow White farewell. Snow White began to wake.

“The Prince’s kiss had broken the spell!”

The Dwarfs cheered and hugged one another joyously.

“Mmm.. What happened?”

The prince explained what happened to her, and he asked her to live in the castle. Snow White agreed because she fell in love with the prince. Snow White thanked the Dwarfs for all they had done. Dopey just watched until they disappear. But he could not just let her go. Suddenly he started to run and climbed the hill. He could see Snow White from the top of the hill, and danced for representing his love to her. But Snow White did not aware his love.


‘When she fell in sleep, a person who felt the saddest,

When she fell in sleep, a person who tried to find the prince for saving her life,

When she left from the forest, a person who ran to the hill,

……………………………………… it was Dopey, the Seventh Dwarf’


Until this time people could not remember the Seventh Dwarf who loved Snow White.
